The Department of Nursing at Otterbein University invites qualified registered nurses to apply for the position of Instructor (non tenure-track) or Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Nursing .

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach a range of undergraduate courses (e.g., professional nursing practice with childrearing families; nutrition through the lifespan; and evidence-based practice, informatics, and research) that align with their qualifications and experience. For Assistant Professor (optional for Instructor), engage in a productive program of scholarship consistent with the Department of Nursing Scholarship Statement; participate in and contribute to the service of the department and the University; serve as an academic advisor to students and as an advisor of student academic projects; serve as a role model in clinical nursing practice by keeping current in clinical nursing by engaging in a concurrent clinical practice, not more than one day per week during the academic terms; and participate in professional development as a registered nurse and as a nurse educator.
QUALIFICATIONS
A DNP degree or a PhD in nursing or a related field is required for an assistant professor appointment. A Master's degree in nursing is required for an instructor appointment. All applicants must have a current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio without unresolved board action, or the ability to secure a license prior to the start of work. Additional requirements : general content knowledge in nursing appropriate to teach at the undergraduate level; teaching experience in traditional baccalaureate nursing programs; evidence of capacity for productive scholarship (tenure-track appointment) and experience using technology-enhanced and online learning tools and approaches. Preferred qualifications : for Instructor level, enrolled in a DNP program; National League of Nursing (NLN) certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE); two years of full-time clinical work as a Registered Nurse or part-time equivalent in the past five years; experience in pediatric nursing; teaching experience in BSN programs; experience in curriculum and evaluation; and experience with advanced electronic communication tools, including social media and virtual meeting software.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
COMPENSATION : For the rank of Instructor - $62,000; for the rank of Assistant Professor - $71,500. 10-month appointment. Full University benefits available.
