DESCRIPTION
Otterbein University is in search of a Senior Database Administrator , responsible for maintaining and enhancing data and technology for all Institutional Advancement departments (Development, Engagement, and Advancement Services). The goal being to help the division increase donor acquisition and fundraising dollars and increase efficiency while decreasing departmental costs such as postage / printing, labor, and licensing fees. Serves as the chief administrator for the alumni / development database system; contributes to the reliable and secure operation of the Momentive Millennium software and / or its successor, SQL Server Management Studio, and related software components underlying the Momentive Millennium application and interfaces; Helps provide visualization and understanding of complex datasets through the use of tools like Power BI; works closely with the University's Information and Technology Services Department (Ellucian) by performing the duties below :

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
20% Implements internal and external technologies for monitoring, tracking and reporting the progress toward meeting the Division of Institutional Advancement's goals and the University's return on investment in the Division which includes maintaining and enhancing the division's Power BI dashboards; creates business reports using Crystal reports and Power BI; processes data requests for Advancement and various departments across campus including report development and generation; understand IA employee roles and make suggestions for process improvements and efficiencies.
10% Adheres to all University and departmental policies and procedures, maintains the highest level of confidentiality; Serves as a member of the Otterbein University AI task force Serves on institutional committees as assigned; other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Required : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with at least 5 years of related experience; experience with advanced technologies, application design, and analysis; experience with, SQL Server 15 and Crystal Reports 10 .

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Must possess strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills including excellent verbal and written English skills including grammar.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Must be competent in general math and have the ability to use excel.
TECHNICAL SKILLS : Required : Expertise in Windows 10, Office 2010 products, client / server networks on a Windows operating system, web browsers (PC, Apple and mobile), RDBMS, mobile technologies, social media, SSL websites, SSIS, SSMS, and cloud computing. Prior work experience in a fund-raising and / or non-profit organization preferred. Knowledge of general office procedures. Must take pride in and be thorough in quality of work produced; must be able to use general office equipment including office PC, copier, telephone, etc.
