About the Role
Otto Aviation is growing, and the need for timely and actionable financial information is becoming more critical. As the team grows rapidly, the role will have the opportunity to be heavily involved in the implementation of new systems (including ERP) and in financial statement audits and capital transactions. This is a dual role in accounting and financial planning due to the stage of the company, with potential to grow in either functional group.
What You'll Do
- Expense reimbursement, and invoice process using Ramp and QuickBooks
- Vendor setup, tax classification in both systems
- Daily cash reconciliation of cleared transactions
- Daily review of corporate credit card expenses for proper support
- Weekly payment process
- Semi-monthly review of benefit withholdings compared to employee elections and vendor invoices
- Month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations (prepaid amortizations, accruals reviews, benefits allocations, fixed assets)
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including reporting and variance analysis reviews with business owners
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards
- Support critical finance transformation projects (automation, systems implementation)
- Develop an expanding understanding of Otto Aviation’s business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures to propose and effectively implement process improvements
Who You Are
- Experience with Ramp, QuickBooks, ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage, SAP, Oracle) preferred
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in general accounting and at least three (3) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years if non-degreed
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to stay apprised of and effectively apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Perform and apply financial analysis techniques including, but not limited to variance analysis, statistical analysis, scenario analysis, financial and cash flow modeling, etc., to projects, budgets, funds and decisions as requested by management
- Develop, establish and continuously improve financial procedures in partnership with other internal stakeholders to ensure sound fiscal management
