Qualifications
- Advanced secretarial training preferred or 3-5 years of successful secretarial experience
- Excellent computer skills required
- Excellent telephone and public relations required
- Must be able to establish a good rapport with students, staff and parents
- Must type 60 wpm
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
- Handles all telephone, mail, and receptionist duties for assigned area.
- Establishes a warm and pleasant office atmosphere for students, staff and parents while performing other assigned duties.
- Performs typing, printing and distribution of correspondence, staff bulletins, and special permission transfers between schools.
- Collects book fees.
- Orders and checks in all media materials.
- Prepares and ends forms for equipment repairs.
- Completes accident reports, sending copies to the proper persons, students and employees.
- Prepares all purchase orders.
- Prepares students' monthly attendance reports and year-end attendance reports.
- Prepares teachers' monthly attendance reports
- Types year-end reports, maintenance requests, newsletters, etc.
- Types teacher evaluations
- Maintains student transfers and records.
- Maintains budget records.
- Administers medications to students in accordance with Board policies.
- Prepares and makes bank deposits.
- Registers new students.
- Administers first aid.
- Orders all supplies and stores them for the year.
- Keeps class lists updated.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by administration.
