POSITION TITLE: Chief Director of Operations
DEPARTMENT: District Office
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
Job Summary: Ottumwa Community School District has an opening for a Chief Director of Operations. This position will provide day-to-day facility management and leadership to district operational leaders.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, LICENSE and/or EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS in general construction, engineering, facilities management or related areas in preferred. Any combination of education, training, and/or experience which demonstrates ability to perform the required duties.
- Working knowledge and understanding of HVAC, electrical and/or plumbing is required
- Working knowledge of local, state and federal laws related to the operations and maintenance of school facilities is preferred
- Three years of senior leadership and operational experience highly preferred
- Valid driver’s license is required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work on all aspects of design and planning of all construction projects.
- Collaborate with other school personnel.
- Prepare board agenda information regarding operations, facilities, and other related items.
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
- Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of purposed actions, critically evaluate the information, determine action and evaluate the effectiveness of action.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership: To keep the school administration informed of all Federal and State Statutes, regulations and requirements associated with his/her responsibilities and disseminates such information to appropriate individuals.
- Ethics: To follow Board Policy, Federal and State laws, rules and regulations that apply to the school’s operation.
- Collaboration: To work collaboratively with the Board of Education, Administrative Team, and its contractors to ensure the highest standards for a safe, clean, healthy, and attractive educational environment for all occupants and visitors.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

Exempt position
Full time/12-month position
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Administrator Evaluation.
SALARY:
Regionally competitive salary commensurate with responsibilities of the position.
