Job Summary:

The Director of Student Success is a strategic and student-centered leader responsible for creating and implementing initiatives that enhance student retention, engagement, and overall success. This role focuses on fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, improving student outcomes, and ensuring that students are equipped with the tools, resources, and guidance they need to thrive academically and professionally.

As a critical member of the OUES leadership team, the Director of Student Success collaborates with academic departments, student services, and other stakeholders to design and execute strategies that promote student persistence and successful program completion. The Director will oversee the development and delivery of programs and services that remove barriers to success, promote engagement, and empower students to reach their full potential throughout their educational journey. This role combines data-driven decision-making with innovative program development to meet the evolving needs of a diverse student population.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support Services:
    • Oversee the delivery of advising, mentoring, and other support services for all OUES Online programs.
    • Identify and address barriers to student success, including academic, financial, and personal challenges.
    • Foster the development of programs that support at-risk students to improve student persistence and program completion.
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive student success strategy aligned with institutional goals.
    • Lead initiatives focused on improving student retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of student success programs and services, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Collaboration and Engagement:
    • Partner with academic departments to ensure alignment between curriculum design and student success initiatives.
    • Collaborate with student affairs, enrollment services, and other campus departments to create a holistic approach to student support.
    • Engage with faculty and staff to promote a culture of accountability and commitment to student success.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilize data and analytics to track student progress, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
    • Prepare regular reports on student success metrics and outcomes for senior leadership.
    • Implement early alert systems to proactively address student challenges.
  • Professional Development and Training:
    • Provide training for staff and faculty on best practices in student success and retention.
    • Stay informed about emerging trends and research in student success and higher education.
  • Leadership and Supervision:
    • Lead and manage the student success team, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
    • Develop and oversee quality management and training for student success programs


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in student success, retention, or related roles in higher education.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing student success programs.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Salesforce or CRM).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in student success initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team oriented and proactive
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with external stakeholders.
