Teller Supervisor
Role: To direct and schedule resources needed to meet the paying and receiving needs of the Credit Union.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
40% Motivates and coaches employees while monitoring their daily activities. Set and maintain tellers daily schedules.
15% Ensure cross-trained duties are rotated among employees on a quarterly basis.
10% Make sure all training or disciplinary actions, due to compliance, processing errors, policy or regulations are addressed in a timely manner and all write-ups forwarded to HR.
5% Evaluate branch cash limits weekly. Adjust weekly cash orders by monitoring fluctuating needs and turn in order to Head Teller by designated time.
5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.
5% Enforce dual control by monitoring logs weekly.
5% Maintain a cash drawer on a limited basis as staffing issues arise.
5% Order and maintain all supplies needed for areas assigned.
5% Ensure all employee training is up-to-date.
5% Complete continuing education as needed with any and all assigned training.
Performance Measurements:
1. Ensure the department is providing friendly, professional, personal service to all members.
2. Fulfill the Teller Standards as required.
3. Maintain a cohesive, highly trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet daily department demands.
4. Keep management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department.
5. Note observations of employee performance. Give and receive feedback from employee on the same no later than 5 working days following each quarter, completing performance reviews within the prescribed timeframe.
6. Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
7. Assist the Branch Manager in promoting a sales culture by identifying coaching and sales opportunities with front-line staff.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills Must have good communication skills. 10-key calculator and computer keyboard skills required; must be accurate with numbers and names.
Physical Requirements Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time in one area.
