What are the responsibilities and job description for the MSR Support Specialist position at Our Community Credit Union?
Job Summary :
To improve overall employee effectiveness / performance through the application of the individual and group
training techniques and programs, consistent with OURCU's organizational priorities.
Essential Job Duties :
- Conducts in-depth MSR Training in a classroom setting as well as on the job training. Training will include but may not be limited to the following : transactions, use of applications, member service, cash and check handling, credit union policy, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Formulates training outline, determines instructional methods, and ensures relevant curriculum by "doing the job" across all branches. Selects or develops training aids such as : manuals, handbooks, procedures, checklists etc.
- Performs on the job training in the trainee's branch. When not conducting training, works on each branches teller line to ensure consistency across all branches.
- Tracks the progress of trainees through routine department visits, tests and feedback from supervisors, evaluates the effectiveness of the current training and adjusts based on current needs.
- Completes required reports, documents and attends meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills :
Experience :
Six months to two years of similar experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
Interpersonal Skills :
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. Indepth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and / or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience.
Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and / or advising others on matters of significance.
Other Skills :
1. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Must be able to operate related computer software and business equipment, including 10-key, telephone, slide, film, overhead projector and other related training aids such as Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint and in-house systems.
3. Professionalism in appearance, dress and attitude is a must.

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure
under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and / or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
Physical Requirements :
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on
computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions :
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
