Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our healthcare team at a Level II Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients, particularly in geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU). This position requires strong caregiving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Provide support in the management of medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Lift and transport patients safely within the hospital setting.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with healthcare professionals.
- Participate in training sessions related to basic life support and patient care protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatrics and senior care practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical records management and medical terminology is beneficial.
- Ability to lift patients safely and assist with mobility as needed.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
