What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Owner (Warehouse Management Systems) position at Our Company?
We are seeking a highly organized, strategic, and resilient Product Owner to drive the vision and execution of our Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) product line. This is a high-impact role interfacing with senior leadership, to ensure our solutions directly support critical operations such as Receiving, Put Away, Pull, and Load Out.
You’ll act as the vital link between our development team and executive stakeholders—translating high-level goals into actionable product roadmaps, clearly prioritized backlogs, and well-defined user stories. Your ability to manage complexity, stay composed under pressure, and maintain alignment across teams will be key to success.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary Product Owner for WMS features and enhancements, with a focus on operational efficiency and business impact.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to gather business needs, define product vision, and ensure alignment on priorities.
- Own and maintain product roadmaps, ensuring clarity, feasibility, and alignment with long-term strategic goals.
- Translate high-level concepts into actionable epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the development team.
- Proactively manage scope and change, avoiding design churn by driving decisions early and documenting thoroughly.
- Ensure stakeholder expectations are managed and met throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with the development team to answer questions, clarify requirements, and validate deliverables.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and product review meetings.
- Monitor and evaluate product performance post-release, identifying areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in software development.
- Proven experience working in warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain software (WMS experience preferred).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior executives.
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage priorities, timelines, and documentation.
- Comfortable handling high-stakes, high-visibility work under pressure.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum development processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Experience managing roadmaps and driving stakeholder alignment across technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Being flexible and okay with requirements changing and uncertainty.
- Background in operations or software delivery in logistics, distribution, or warehouse environments.
- Prior experience working in a scale-up or fast-paced enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with metrics-driven product development and feedback loops.
