Rooms To Go is hiring a Safety Manager.
What you’ll be doing:
- Recruit, motivate and retain a team of high-performing and driven Associates
- Work closely with the Associates to improve morale by motivating through effective coaching and facilitating personal growth
- Work with other department leaders to cultivate a welcoming and team-focused environment
- Communicate effectively with Associates and all levels of management
- Create and implement workplace safety plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies including OSHA, EPA.
- Evaluate safety practices and procedures for risk assessment
- Conduct accident prevention training and safety training
- Inspect all vehicles and equipment to ensure operational safety
- Analyze accident reports and evaluate injuries based on available facts
- Identify and celebrate operational successes; develop and implement strategies to capitalize on opportunities address areas of improvement, and execute accordingly
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 2 years of college or equivalent
- Four years of warehouse experience, of which two years must involve warehouse department management
- Experience in developing and implementing safety programs, conducting safety audits and inspections, and providing safety training
- In-depth understanding of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) standards
- Knowledgeable in worker’s compensation regulations
- Ability to integrate changing processes and procedures, managing time and resources effectively
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong leadership skills, flexible and innovative with a collaborative style
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs., ability to bend, stand, walk for prolonged period of time
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends
- Able to submit to a Drug Test and Background Investigation.
