As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic SolidWorks Manager to lead our team of drafters and oversee the development of detailed, accurate, and manufacturable designs for our furniture products.
Position Overview:
The SolidWorks Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our drafting team, ensuring that all designs and product models meet our high standards of quality, functionality, and manufacturability. The manager will guide the team in creating precise and comprehensive 3D models and technical drawings for new furniture styles, modifications to existing products, and process improvements. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments, including engineering, product development, and production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drafters to ensure they produce high-quality work in line with company standards.
• SolidWorks Expertise: Oversee the creation and modification of 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings using SolidWorks for the development of new and existing furniture products.
• Design Review & Quality Control: Ensure all drafts and designs are accurate, complete, and manufacturable. Provide guidance and review of design changes to improve product performance and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product development from concept to production.
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve drafting processes and workflows, utilizing best practices to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and maintain consistency.
• Training & Development: Provide ongoing training for drafters on SolidWorks tools, design techniques, and company standards.
• Project Management: Manage multiple drafting projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all drawings, models, and revisions.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 5 years of experience working with SolidWorks, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role in a related industry, preferably within the furniture manufacturing industry.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, drafting).
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and furniture construction methods.
• Familiarity with CAD standards and design documentation practices.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex design or manufacturing challenges.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively across teams.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in both design and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the furniture manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of wood and upholstered furniture manufacturing processes.

Salary range is $70,000 - $90,000.
