Position Summary:

The Senior Data Analyst seamlessly blends the roles of business data analyst and data evangelist. The mission for this role is to drive user story development, craft compelling data visualizations, and unearth actionable insights that propel ODBM forward. From certifying data sources to regularly engaging internal stakeholders, you're a champion of data-driven decision-making. This role will work across all lines of business Ministry wide, including working closely with the Ministry-Wide Digital Marketing team to help educate and advise on the performance of their daily marketing functions.

Essential Functions:

1. Regularly identify and communicate insights in data, validating those insights with peers in the Data Services Team and internal customers.
2. Produce basic functional, clear, and well-designed data visualizations.
3. Understand and apply intermediate statistical principles.
4. Utilize software to collect, cleanse, manipulate, analyze, model, or present data, as well as spot anomalies.
5. Regularly meet and communicate with current and potential internal customers, engage them with what is available and new things that are coming, encourage them in the use of data for business decisions.
6. Train internal customers on dashboards, etc.
7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide regular updates to Data Services team and other relevant internal customers.
8. Understand systems used across the ministry and the data available from them, and how data needs to be captured or collected across these systems for efficient enterprise-wide reporting.
9. Maintain professional competency, knowledge, and skills necessary to effectively perform job duties by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training.

1. Train/mentor Reporting Analysts to ensure data literacy and common language is known within the team. Act as a Lead to Reporting Analysts with data-related inquiries and report deliverables.

1. Work with the ministry teams to produce KPI reports and dashboards and identify areas for improvement in data processes.
2. Build and maintain data dictionaries, verify data accuracy, and review reports for compliance.

Study or Knowledge or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration.
• 3-6 years of professional experience in data analytics and/or business systems analytics.
• Demonstrated proficiency in database analysis, design, and deployment.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

• Strong computer skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Salesforce, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL server, Tableau. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
