As an MRP Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies necessary to support our production facilities in Lincolnton and Conover, NC. Your role will ensure that our operations run smoothly by sourcing high-quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining cost efficiency and effective supplier relationships.

Our Home is currently seeking an MRO Buyer to join our team. As an MRP Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies necessary to support our production facilities in Lincolnton and Conover, NC. Your role will ensure that our operations run smoothly by sourcing high-quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining cost efficiency and effective supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with MRO suppliers to negotiate contracts, manage pricing, and secure favorable terms
- Analyze and forecast MRO needs based on production schedules and maintenance requirements to maintain optimal inventory levels
- Create and process purchase orders for MRO supplies, ensuring accurate specifications and pricing
- Monitor order status and inventory levels, proactively addressing potential shortages or delays to mitigate operational disruptions
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to understand requirements and provide timely support for MRO needs
- Evaluate supplier performance by assessing quality, delivery timelines, and pricing, and adjust procurement strategies accordingly
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize MRO procurement processes to ensure efficiency and sustainability
- Stay informed about market trends and changes in the MRO sector to make informed purchasing decisions
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier information, and procurement activity to support auditing and reporting functions
- Assist in developing and maintaining procurement policies aligned with organizational goals
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, specifically within MRO purchasing
- Strong negotiation skills and experience negotiating contracts with suppliers
- Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical skills, able to evaluate data and make informed decisions
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
- Typical hours will include a Monday - Friday schedule working 7AM to 5PM
- 50% travel between Lincolnton and Conover, NC required
