What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse - RN, LPN - Third Shift Addiction Medicine, Withdrawal Management position at Our Hope Association?
Position Summary:
The Program Nurse at Our Hope Association will provide quality care to all clients while maintaining respect, dignity, and confidentiality. The Nurse will assume responsibility and accountability for a group of clients’ trying to seek healing from the disease of addiction.
Qualifications
- Current RN or LPN license required
- CPR/BLS/AED Certified
- Proficient with patient care and assessment
- Strong communication skills essential
- Experience in addiction medicine and withdrawal management preferred
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Perform necessary clinical functions to facilitate the delivery of quality care within the facility. These can include assessments of withdrawal status using standardized assessment tools (CIWA, COWS).
2. Attends required meetings and all facilities trainings.
3. Work in a manner that preserves the client’s confidentiality.
4. Respect the client throughout every aspect of care.
5. Triage client’s needs in a timely manner.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
7. Conducts an alcohol or other drug-focused nursing assessment upon admission
8. Monitoring, recording, and reporting any changes in the client’s condition.
9. Report pertinent information to the oncoming nursing staff.
10. Administer and monitor prescription medications
11. Administer and Read TB skin test.
12. Monitor client’s medication usage and results.
13. Educate clients
14. Maintain all equipment and notify proper staff if maintenance is needed.
15. Punctual for oncoming shift.
16. Communicates as appropriate to other healthcare team members (i.e. physician, nurse, therapist)
17. Perform appropriate treatments as ordered by the physician in an accurate and timely manner
18. Observing and interpreting client’s symptoms and communicating them to physicians.
19. Perform routine procedures and document appropriately (i.e. vital signs, administering injections)
20. Maintain the use of standard precautions where applicable
21. Consistently demonstrates effective communication skills, and continues to work on any communication barriers
22. Follow the standards and guidelines set by CARF and the State Licensing
23. Promote Our Hope Association and uphold its values, principles, and policies
24. Monitor the effectiveness of treatments
25. Distributing oral medications
26. Collecting blood specimens as needed
27. Mandated reporter per the State of Michigan
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem
Pay: $52,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
