Our Hospice is seeking a Housekeeping & Kitchen Aide to join our team. This position involves both kitchen and housekeeping responsibilities, ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and patient comfort in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of managing various cleaning and food preparation tasks efficiently.
This position is a Full-Time position at 40hrs per week (4 days per week and every other weekend).
Pay: $16 based on experience

A Housekeeping and Kitchen Aide at Our Hospice will:
- Kitchen Aide Duties:
- Food Preparation & Storage: Prepare and store food according to Federal and State regulations, Hospice policies, and patient diet orders in the Plan of Care. Participate in developing and maintaining processes to meet dietary requirements, including special diet needs.
- Stocking & Inventory: Maintain kitchen supplies, ensure items are ordered as needed, and rotate stock by expiration date. Ensure family rooms, conference rooms, and staff lounges are stocked appropriately.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Complete daily cleaning assignments for the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards. Clean refrigerators in inpatient family rooms and staff lounges.
- Vending Area Maintenance: Ensure vending machines and dining areas are stocked and clean, providing a comfortable environment for patients and staff.
- Universal Precautions: Always observe Universal Precautions when handling food and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Cleaning & Janitorial Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of patient living areas, public spaces, offices, and staff areas, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Special Projects: Wash walls, ceilings, lighting fixtures, vents, and clean floors/carpets as assigned. Perform special cleaning tasks, such as moving furniture and equipment for thorough cleaning.
- Waste Management: Collect and dispose of waste, ensuring that trash is properly managed and prepared for disposal.
- Emergency Housekeeping Support: Respond to urgent housekeeping needs to ensure health, safety, or comfort for patients and staff.
- Cleaning Equipment & Supplies: Maintain a clean and organized janitor's closet and equipment area. Properly prepare cleaning solutions and use supplies economically and safely.
- Grounds Maintenance: Assist in maintaining exterior grounds and the parking lot, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, timely records in accordance with organizational policies (e.g., daily documentation, flow-sheets).
- Previous experience in housekeeping, kitchen, or janitorial services preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict cleanliness, safety, and food handling guidelines.
- Ability to multitask, handle cleaning equipment, and manage inventory efficiently.
- Ability to lift, move, and manage cleaning supplies, furniture, and equipment as necessary.
- Must observe established hygiene and safety standards and work independently or as part of a team.
- High School Diploma required
- Valid Indiana Driver's License.
