Associate Campus Minister

JOB DESCRIPTION: Our Lady of Good Counsel High School is searching for an Associate
Campus Minister who will start in August 2025. This individual will support all pillars of the Campus
Ministry program: word and worship, pastoral care and formation, service, and retreats. The
incumbent must embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice initiatives and implement them
through the school’s Catholic identity and Xaverian Charisms. The Associate Campus Minister will
exhibit a strong commitment to student life, fostering a faith-centered, welcoming environment, and
the promotion of Xaverian values.
JOB TYPE: full-time, 10-month position (some evening, weekend, and overnight activities
required)

SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Director of Campus Ministry
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Retreats
- Adult-facing retreats: Faculty/staff Retreat
- Student-facing retreats: Freshman Retreat, Sophomore Retreat, Junior Retreat (3-day, 2-night
- Assists in developing and revising retreat programming
Pastoral Care and Formation
- Maintains a compassionate ministry of presence to students, faculty, and staff
- Supports efforts to deliver inclusive catechesis to all stakeholder groups in the School
- Acknowledges and celebrates religious diversity within the school community
- Develops and implements student leadership programming through the GC
- Assists in the selection and cultivation of adult and student leaders in the Campus
Ministry program
Word and Worship
- Assists in the planning and celebration of Holy Mass for the School community to include
occasions
- Assists in the development, planning, and implementation of prayer services for the School
- Forms and supervises student liturgical ministers in collaboration with the Chaplain
Service
- Lead and participate in local and domestic service trips, as scheduled.
- Supports the implementation the Xaverian Service program by
- Assisting in the evaluation and record-keeping of student service logs
- Educating students and other community members about the mission and policies of
- Developing on-campus service opportunities and teach-ins
- Assists in the coordination and execution of the Senior Day of Service
- Identifies, develops, and maintains partnerships with agencies and organizations
where our students have the opportunity to serve
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Ministry and/or the Chief Mission &
Identity Officer
QUALIFICATIONS AND HOW TO APPLY
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be a skilled, clear, and effective communicator who writes and speaks passionately and
- Have at least three years of experience in Catholic campus ministry or related.
- Have experience facilitating youth programs and the pillars of Campus Ministry (Retreat,
- Be highly relatable to students, teachers, and staff.
- Be comfortable in a highly visible school environment, internally and externally.
- Possess an understanding and appreciation for the tact required to work with various
- Hold a Master’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or Pastoral Studies.
A Successful Candidate Must:
- Be a practicing Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to visible and active participation
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related areas of study.
- Robustly uphold our Catholic identity and educational tradition while embracing the

- Build trust and rapport with students, faculty/staff, and parents by being approachable, an
active listener, and modeling our school’s spiritual values.
- Express a willingness to engage in further personal faith development and to help others,
- Be able to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate
- Have demonstrated experience and/or commitment to serving a school community that is
- Indicate interest in developing meaningful and engaging programs for a diverse group of
- Demonstrate an ability to manage and effectively prioritize multiple projects and requests.
- Be self-motivated, well-organized, and have a sense of humor.
- Be comfortable engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders, with an emphasis on high
school students and their families.
SALARY RANGE:
$47,000 - $80,000 based on a salary scale that factors education and experience
