JOB TITLE: Transportation Coordinator
The Transportation Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and well-organized transportation
and traffic management operations at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. This includes overseeing the
planning, implementation, and monitoring of daily bus shuttle routes, carpool traffic, and transportation support
for special events. The Coordinator also manages communication with stakeholders and supervises traffic flow and
parking logistics, fostering a collaborative and safe environment for students, parents, staff, and visitors.
The Transportation Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Physical Plant and works Monday through
Friday, with frequent evening and weekend responsibilities to support school events.

SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Direct of Physical Plant
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transportation Management:
- Develop, monitor, and adjust daily morning and afternoon bus routes to ensure timely and safe
- Coordinate transportation for special events, athletic trips, and other school-related activities.
- Evaluate and manage the contract (w/ support from the Direct or Physical Plant) for the bus service
- Serve as the primary point of contact for bus drivers, parents, and school staff regarding transportation
- Maintain accurate records of routes, driver assignments, student ridership, and other transportation data.
- Develop efficient and comprehensive bus pass execution with bookstore manager for student ridership.
Traffic and Parking Management:
- Manage, monitor, and direct daily traffic flow for student drop-off and pick-up, ensuring a safe and orderly
- Schedule and coordinate traffic and police officers for carpool operations and special events.
- Supervise and direct parking logistics for major events, including building rentals and large school
- Communicate with police and traffic officers regarding traffic concerns and incidents.
Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate timely updates to parents, guardians, and school staff about changes to bus schedules, stops,
- Notify the school community of Department of Transportation (DOT) road closures or conditions
- Act as a liaison between the school and external transportation partners, including local authorities and
- Collaborate with the Director of Physical Plant and other school departments to resolve transportation
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement protocols for reporting and addressing accidents and incidents.
- Track and address DOT road issues and communicate safety concerns.
- Assist in training bus drivers and staff on emergency response protocols.
Administrative Duties:
- Collect and prepare reports on student ridership, bus usage, miles traveled, and other relevant metrics.
- Maintain detailed records of routes, incidents, and other transportation-related activities.
- Assist in budget management for transportation operations and services.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Physical Plant.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and direct traffic for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work outside in various conditions for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to use hands to grasp and move items.
- Ability to lift and move light equipment as necessary.
Working Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor work environments, including exposure to various weather conditions.
- Fast-paced school setting with frequent contact with students, parents, faculty, and external stakeholders.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
The annual base salary range is $55,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience. Good Counsel offers a
