Classification: Hourly/ Non exempt
Overview
The Administrative Assistant assists the parish with various office related tasks. This role will welcome visitors, answers telephones, provide data input and administrative support.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides receptionist services for the parish office, welcomes and directs visitors.
- Answers telephones and directs calls appropriately.
- Records clear and accurate messages, addresses questions about policies, events, etc
- Maintains schedules for weddings, baptisms, and other facility related events.
- Assists families and individuals planning for future or immediate funeral rites.
- Helps to maintain parishioner database (ParishSoft) and other parish sacramental records.
- Helps with other various parish event support projects
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
- Experience in an office and team environment.
- Experience working with the general public, customer service or similar.
- Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
- Knowledge and skill in working with telephone systems, computers and other various office machines and equipment
- Microsoft Word/Excel/Publisher, and able to learn ParishSoft for parishioner database.
- Ability to learn new software programs as needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
