The Physician Liaison will serve as a representative of Medical Staff Services to OLOL medical staff members. Coordinates physician services to foster enhanced communications and collaboration between OLOL medical staff and staff members.Job Function :
- Program Management
- Assist in the selection, training, and orientation of new medical staff, clinical applications in conjunction with CIS and Physician PC support and facilitates physician outreach such as physician satiation dinners and office manager outreach forums. Implement and monitors departmental work schedules and duty assignments and oversee departmental staffing levels.
- Assist in recommending development of programs and services that enhance physician relations at OLOL and aid in identifying the physician's referral network and community health care needs. Monitors medical staff service recovery by facilitating responses to the physician hotline in conjunction with the medical staff services coordinator when needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks and develop a work plan to meet the needs of the staff. Maintains an efficient system of managing written and verbal communication with the staff and community. Provides effective follow-up communication of all development activities and documents all relevant contact information.
- Serves as a member of hospital administration by participating in the development and implementation of plans, policies, and programs, and the formation of corporate goals, objectives, and strategies. Assists in the creation and development of programs and services that are based on organizational goals, objectives and community health care needs.

- Observes and adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures, and follows all safety, quality assurance and infection control standards.
- Promotes the quality and efficiency of his / her own performance by remaining current with the latest trends in field of expertise through participation in job-relevant seminars and workshops, attendance at professional conferences, and affiliations with national and state professional organizations.
- Collaboration and Partnership
- Facilitates the coordination of medical staff communications, participate at service, service-line, and chief meetings. Coordinates content for physician updates and postings, blast fax communications, CME activities, and physician focused events. Assists with the identification of pertinent topics and ideas for LakeMD and monthly e-newsletters to physicians. Directs and recommends new programs and revisions that enhance and improve upon the quality and efficiency of existent programs, and aids in researching and identifying opportunities for new service areas.
- Develops positive relationship between the hospital and community agencies, special interest and civic groups, and professional affiliations by acting as a hospital representative.
