What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technologist 3 PRN Premium position at Our Lady of the Lake?
Responsible for the care and safety of the patients under their care. Included within this assignment is the responsibility for organization and preparation of instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures, equipment/instruments and all aspects of infection control and safety.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Provides nursing care, based on individual patient needs as assessed by the registered nurse. Maintains aseptic techniques; actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Assists circulator in preparation of room for operative procedure. Performs proficiently in specialty areas. Assists in maintaining an organized and clean department. Assumes responsibility for proper care of instruments and equipment. Cooperates and supports team effort during procedures. Prepares room with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, Inservice meetings and workshops. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
