We are seeking a full time Laundry Attendant to join our team!
Schedule will be two 8 hour days a week.
Our Lady of the Valley is a nonprofit, nondenominational senior care community sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, located in Roanoke, VA. It is our mission to enhance the quality of life for each resident through personalized attention and exceptional senior services.
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for performing the duties necessary to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all resident and facility laundry.
Specifically, the Laundry Attendant:
- Is responsible for keeping the laundry room and laundry storage areas clean and orderly.
- Keeps laundry equipment clean and in working order. Reports all equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Maintains adequate inventory of laundry supplies. Informs supervisor of needed supplies.
- Delivers clean properly folded laundry to residents within 24 - 48 hours of receipt.
- Picks up dirty laundry from housekeeping carts as needed.
- Performs janitorial duties as assigned.
- Participates in in-service training.
- Observes and protects residents’ rights including rights to confidentiality, privacy and dignity.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and to bend, crawl, stoop, push, and lift in order to deliver care and services as needed.
- Practices safety procedures and complies with established reporting of accidents and injuries.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
