Our maternity group home provides a safe and supportive environment for young mothers and mothers-to-be in the foster care system. Our mission is to empower young women with resources, guidance, and life skills to help them thrive as both individuals and as mothers. **Job Summary:**
We are seeking compassionate and responsible Direct Care Professionals to join our team. As a Direct Care Professional, you will provide supervision, mentorship, and guidance to young mothers and expectant mothers in foster care. Your role will be essential in creating a safe, stable, and positive living environment, helping these young women to develop life skills, access resources, and nurture their parenting abilities.
**Responsibilities:**
- Build positive, trusting relationships with residents through active listening, encouragement, and mentorship.
- Assist residents with daily activities, including meal preparation, household chores, budgeting, and time management.
- Guide and support residents in parenting skills, child development education, and personal health and wellness.
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and their children.
- Enforce house rules and support conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
- Document daily interactions, incidents, and progress notes, maintaining confidentiality and thorough records.
- Coordinate with house manager to discuss behavior, medical, dental, and mental health needs observed.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and development sessions as required.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services welcomed.
- Experience working with youth, particularly those in foster care or facing trauma and crisis, is highly valued.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and a commitment to a supportive, empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
