Reports to: Principal
Job Summary: The Spanish Tutor assists students with grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation to assist them in foreign language understanding. The tutor will provide developmentally appropriate activities to enhance the curriculum and a warm healthy interaction with youth.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide developmentally appropriate activities and projects
• Follow OPP’s personnel policies.
• Assist in the arrangement and upkeep of classroom as well as all equipment and materials.
• Assist in supervising all activities to ensure safety of each youth at all times.
• Help establish good habits and maintain good behavior of students.
• Maintain prompt hours; notify principal in case of illness.
• Work with all other staff members in a cooperative manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Attend staff meetings
• Attend in-service training as needed.
Requirements
• Associate degree required
• State of CT teaching certificate preferred
• 3 years’ experience tutoring children and teenagers
• Ability to pass a background check
• Reliable transportation required
• Able to develop positive rapport with students
• Excellent communication skills
Salary : $30
