OUR Rescue is an NGO whose mission is to end sex trafficking and child sexual exploitation worldwide, while empowering survivors to reclaim their lives and thrive on their healing journey. We partner in this fight with service agencies, law enforcement, governments and supports who share our vision of a world free from sex trafficking. We do this through 3 pillars of Education & Prevention, Survivor Care and Operations.
We work with law enforcement agencies globally to identify, arrest, and prosecute traffickers, and provide comprehensive care for survivors. We also educate and advocate for public involvement in our mission.
Description:
The Community Engagement Coordinator leads the efforts to support the passion of volunteers, and our most dedicated supporters committed to Our Rescue’s mission. This position creates and implements mechanisms to nurture volunteers' and supporters' needs to ensure their passion and engagement with the organization continues to grow. The Community Engagement Coordinator works closely with each department and community partners to develop and maintain relationships to ensure volunteers are involved and actively participating in events, annual campaigns, and community programs. This position calls for a creative and independent worker who is motivated to bring a new approach to community engagement and volunteer opportunities.
Responsibilities:
· Execute the annual Community Engagement team’s strategy and plan to retain and nurture existing volunteers and grow the volunteer program to meet awareness/fundraising goals.
· Keep new and existing volunteers informed about the organization and volunteer opportunities using marketing tools such as community programs, e-mails, and volunteer databases.
· Utilize tools to improve communication and responsiveness with volunteers at peak times of demand. (Rise Up, Human Trafficking Awareness Month, Events).
· Collaborate with the Major Gift Officers to facilitate opportunities and events for donations.
· Improve ongoing outreach to organizations alike to build strong partnerships for future volunteer and strategic business opportunities.
· Share your skills with the Community Engagement team to create innovative and engaging campaigns that align with the Marketing and Advancement Department.
· Assist in the creation of a monthly presentation with the Volunteer Ambassadors.
· Assist in a quarterly webinar to all Our Rescue Volunteers.
· Meet and communicate with relevant staff regularly to assess the need for and schedule volunteers to serve in their departments.
· Foster relationships with volunteers and maximize their experience with the organization while making sure they feel appreciated: phone conversations, emails, thank you notes, etc.
· Enable a culture which respects and nurtures the acceptance and appreciation of the value that volunteers bring to the mission.
· Maintain and update the volunteer portal (VOMO) regularly.
· Report VOMO’s dashboard analytics and current needs from your region to the Director, Volunteer Engagement weekly.
· Organize phone calls and email threads per volunteer requests. Delegate as needed.
Qualifications:
· Preferably 2-3 years volunteer management OR related work experience in a non-profit or charitable organization.
· Volunteer Management / Community Relations experience is a plus.
· Proof of fundraising with small-medium size gifts is a plus.
· Understand current trends, resources and information related to volunteerism.
· People leadership and management: positively influence others to achieve the best results.
· Effective communication: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
· Decision making: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
· Computers and technology: basic word processing, email, spreadsheets. (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
· Data collection, analysis, documentation, and reporting.
· Organization: Independently manage time, tasks and priorities.

Salary : $40,000 - $60,000
