Responsibilities include:
- Enforcing local, state, and federal laws within the city of Ouray
- Responding to emergency calls and incidents, providing support in various situations
- Providing public safety and community outreach through engagement and education
- Writing reports, maintaining accurate records, and testifying in court as needed
- Collaborating with other law enforcement agencies and emergency responders
Preferred qualifications include an associate's or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field, completion of a police academy or equivalent training, and passing a background check, medical exam, and psychological evaluation.
