Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations to enhance their mental well-being.
- Launder clothing and linens as needed, maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Document medical information accurately, including changes in the client's condition or behavior.
- Support memory care activities for clients experiencing cognitive challenges, promoting mental engagement.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home health care or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices is beneficial.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting and transferring clients safely.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others maintain their independence at home.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by employment policies.
