Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This position is responsible for performing a variety of inspections and tests on incoming materials, work in process (WIP) or sub-assembly items, and finished goods following documented instructions and assessing the results relative to specifications. This role will help define and refine specifications and inspection criteria for new materials and products and will work closely with other functions, including Quality Assurance.
Responsibilities
Duties include the following, with additional activities assigned by manager as needed:
Physical inspection of incoming raw materials and components.
- Review of Certificates of Analysis (CoA) against specifications
- Visual inspection relative to established standards
- Sample collection, identification, and coordination of internal and/or external testing
- Routine testing for chemical attributes
· Support of manufacturing through involvement in confirmation of line “setup” and specific in-process testing. Direct involvement in manufacturing processes as needed.
· Use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to track materials and status.
· Assist in documenting equipment calibration. May perform some calibrations.
· Finished good inspection which includes a review of manufacturing documentation as well as executing physical inspections and tests.
· Confirm adequacy of specifications and aide in investigations when a non-conformance to a specification is obtained.
· Create and update QC testing procedures and associated forms.
· Tracking and trending key quality attributes and application of statistical process control (SPC) methods to the data.
Education and Experience:
B.S./B.A. in Life/Chemistry/Applied Sciences or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in a cGMP environment preferred.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Fundamental knowledge of statistical and attribute sampling.
- Use of common laboratory and analytical equipment, including routine calibration and maintenance.
- Basic algebraic, mathematical and statistical method competency
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of MS Office tools (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Strong record keeping capabilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts and demonstrated experience in identification of problems and problem solving approaches (e.g. DMAIC, LEAN).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends related to product quality.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey quality-related information clearly.
Position is Full-time. Reports to Manufacturing Manager.
