Clinical Therapist I/II (EPU)

Under the general supervision of the respective Supervisor, the Clinical Therapist  provides professional psychotherapeutic services associated with evidence-based practices and psychosocial rehabilitative services to individuals and families.

*This position is for a Clinical Therapist I or II.

Hours:  Monday 10:00 AM - 7 PM & Tuesday - Friday 8 AM -4:30 PM
             On- Call Crisis rotation
             This position is eligible for Comp Time

The following duties are most critical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Generates and maintains accurate clinical documentation as required by established standards and internal departmental policies.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with other Health and Human Services Divisions, medical and human service agencies in the County and State.
  • Maintains licensure in Wisconsin by meeting all requirements of defined discipline.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance, works overtime/extra hours as required.
  • Provides on-call services as assigned.
  • Maintains productivity standards as defined by Division standards.
  • Investigates and provides services to allegedly abused or neglected adults.
  • Makes clinical assessments of consumers, family dynamics, medical and psychological histories, and formulates individualized outcome based treatment plans.
  • Manages consumers with varying degrees of mental health needs in a clinically effective and ethical manner.
  • Responds to daytime crisis service needs, makes preliminary emergent psychosocial assessment based on available information, provides short term psychotherapy and makes referrals as appropriate.
Clinical Therapist I:
 
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, human services related field. 
  • Certification in the State of Wisconsin as an Advanced Practice Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor - In Training, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - In Training.
  • Under 3 year's licensure as Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • Substance Abuse certification and experience assessing and working with dually diagnosed consumers is preferred.
  • One to two years of supervised experience with crisis intervention and/or adult protective services is preferred for assignment to Crisis Unit.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. 
Clinical Therapist II:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, human services related field. 
  • Licensure in the State of Wisconsin as Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • Three or more years' experience as fully licensed practitioner.
  •  Substance Abuse certification and experience assessing and working with dually diagnosed consumers is preferred.
  •  One to two years of supervised experience with crisis intervention and/or adult protective services is preferred for assignment to Crisis Unit.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. 

  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to conform to goals, policies, and procedures of the Department as well as the Outagamie County Work Rules and Terms of Employment.
  • Ability to transport oneself to and from various locations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including computers and software utilized by the Department.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate decimals and percent's, and make use of the principles of descriptive statistics.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including clinical, hospital, and other medical records, policy and other manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with consumers, multidisciplinary staff, law enforcement, legal professionals, school personnel, general public and others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to adhere to professional ethics and standards. 
  •  Knowledge and appreciation of cultural issues and differences.
  • Skills in organization including paperwork management, time management, and prioritization of crisis demands.
  • Ability to make public presentations and provide community speaking engagements when needed.
