Outback Materials is a growing, family-owned, ready-mix concrete company in the Central San Joaquin Valley. Outback operates from six plant locations in the Fresno area, with operations in the foothills and mountain communities in the Central Sierras. As an Order Taker, you will work as part of a team to coordinate the purchase of concrete, rock, and sand for construction projects in Central California. • You have positive interactions with customers, drivers, and other members of the dispatch team

You take initiative

• You communicate with customers, dispatch, and other members of the team to ensure orders are taken accurately and in the most efficient way
• You reach out to others to make them aware of changing conditions
• You always keep customers in the loop

You have industry experience

• You have a minimum of 1-year experience dispatching or order-taking in the construction industry
• You understand have some understanding of concrete and the process of getting the material to the job site
• You know local roads (especially in our mountain and foothill communities) and can help drivers find job sites and transfer points

You have strong computer skills

• You have experience with a ready-mix dispatch software (preferably Integra) and know how to get the most out of it
• You understand the basics of Excel
• You have used truck tracking software before (preferably Track-It), and can help drivers navigate the software

You are reliable

• You always arrive on time, ready to go
• You have a good attendance record
• You stay attentive and responsive throughout the entire workday
• You can work on your own if needed
• People know they can depend on you
