Overview
The Staff Accountant is expected to audit daily transactions related to the Point of Sale systems postings and documents for accuracy and prepare a daily distribution of reports. . Detail job description include (but not limited to) the following tasks;
Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Respond to inquiries from our guests, clients and vendors.
Point of Sales Systems:
- Audit all point-of-sale systems daily for accuracy and completeness
- Verify allowances and miscellaneous postings/ adjustments for proper authorization and coding
- Investigate discrepancies and develop procedures to eliminate them
- Print, verify accuracy and distribute daily revenue reports
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Communicate with outlets about questions or problems with regard to posting that have an effect on the creation of the sales journals
Qualifications
- High School graduate or general education degree (GED)
- College level accounting classes is preferred
- Accounting degree a plus
- Hospitality experience a plus
- Two years of accounting or related field experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work with minimal or no supervision
- Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work with multiple systems
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong interest and enthusiasm towards work
- Must be able to perform in a highly confidential environment

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an indoor working environment and the noise level in the work place is usually low.
- Typical equipment used include but are not limited to computers, POS systems, handheld devices, phones and household cleaning supplies.
