Technical Subject Matter Expect (TS/SCI clearance)

We are currently seeking a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support strategic and technical initiatives within mission-essential programs. In this senior-level consulting role, the SME will offer expert guidance in areas such as enterprise planning, performance engineering, modeling, stakeholder engagement, and policy development, driving high-impact outcomes across key deliverables.

Location: Arlington, VA / Annapolis Junction, MD / Colorado Springs, CO (On-site; SCIF environment required)

Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI – DHS SCI access and indoctrination required

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise program managers and senior leadership on complex technical and operational issues
• Lead development of strategic planning artifacts, capability development documents, and CONOPS
• Perform advanced data modeling, statistical analysis, and risk assessments to support programmatic decisions
• Support the design and implementation of enterprise-level performance measurement and improvement frameworks
• Develop and maintain executive briefings, integrated master schedules, and policy documents
• Participate in cross-functional working groups, technical steering committees, and stakeholder engagement forums
• Ensure deliverables meet the highest standards of clarity, relevance, and mission alignment
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in engineering, data science, public policy, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in federal consulting, strategic advisory, or technical analysis roles
• Extensive experience supporting federal agencies with SCI-level operations
• Strong knowledge of DHS or IC community mission and systems
• Demonstrated ability to create high-level briefings and technical documents
  
  

Compensation And Benefits

The estimated compensation range for this position is between $165,000 and $185,000 annually, based on benchmarks in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. This range reflects a good faith estimate for all experience levels. At Hive Group, salary decisions are influenced by several factors, including but not limited to the role, location, and the combination of education, training, skills, certifications, competencies, and relevant work experience.
