What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Dog Walker and Pet Sitter position at Outdoor Dog Adventures?
We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working, team-oriented dog walker who is committed to providing top-notch care for dog and human clients alike. Walkers must enjoy exercise and spending time with dogs outdoors. Must also be comfortable around other animals such as cats, exotics, etc. Candidates must be available mornings, afternoons, and evenings/nights and live within or near our service area in LOUISVILLE, KY. No overnight work. Weekend availability and holiday availability required. Hours vary based on scheduling. Part time with hours ranging from 15 to 30 hours per week. Hours may increase during peak time. This position requires applicant to have reliable transportation as the position consists of driving to and from each private residence.
Requirements:
- Experienced in caring for dogs and other animals
- Responsible, reliable, patient, and caring
- Good judgement and decision-making ability, able to work independently
- Excellent customer service skills
- Detail-oriented
- Time management
- Willingness to take direction from others
- Ability to function well as a team member
- Able to work holidays
- Have computer with internet access and email
- Have a reliable smartphone with data plan
- Have a valid driver’s license with clear driving record and possess your own vehicle

We train our team thoroughly, but it’s a plus if you have:
- An understanding of dog behavior
- Experience with dogs in groups (big or small)
- Training, walking, boarding, or dog daycare experience
- Professional Pet Sitter certification
- Pet 1st Aid and CPR certification
