SUMMARY

An Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Lighting Technician will be responsible for installation of low voltage outdoor lighting systems generally in residential settings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to :

  • Safely climb and work on ladders to perform necessary installation tasks, including working on rooftops in harness
  • Run and bury low voltage wiring in landscape areas and lawns.
  • Assembles lights and mounts them in prescribed locations, mount transformers and connect wire runs.
  • Safely operate a variety of tools including hammer drills, power drills, saws, grinders and other tools as required.
  • Clean all areas affected by the installation and perform maintenance on all Company tools and equipment used daily on work sites.
  • Learn and understand different light fixtures and lighting methods to be able to identify additional lighting opportunities for clients.
  • Follow installation checklists to ensure all relevant tasks have been completed for each service.
  • Assess lighting system failures and take corrective measures to restore lights; diagnose issues, and develop and present corrective plan to client.
  • Assist clients in understanding their new system.
  • Speak with client to inform and educate about additional products and services available.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in training, including : passing the Certified Outdoor Lighting Technician examination; learning different installation and lighting methods; become proficient with different technologies, hardware, and software used by the company.

  • Must be detailed oriented, able to plan, prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work outdoors, autonomously and understand when a superior need to be involved in decision making.
  • Self-motivated, with a dedication to apply new knowledge to your job.
  • Be available to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School degree or equivalent and / or
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a customer service-related industry and
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, including a clean driving record, and other pre-employment screening.
  • Ability to climb a 32-foot ladder and safely transition to a roof.
  • Ability to travel overnight to out-of-town job sites.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Safely go up and down ladders, including transitioning from ladder to roof. Ability to perform duties on ladders and roofs
  • Able to lift & carry items up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequently move the whole body to perform tasks such as, lifting, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling the handling of materials.
  • Stand or walk for periods of time.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch in awkward positions.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

    Compensation : $18.00 per hour
