Maintenance Crew Member is responsible for performing a variety of work assignments to assist with the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building. Plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, repairs structure, maintains outside of building, etc.

Maintenance Crew Member is responsible for performing a variety of work assignments to assist with the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building. Plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, repairs structure, maintains outside of building, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.
- Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.
- Cut lawn using hand, power, or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
- Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
- Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others.
- Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
- Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling.
- Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties.
- Sweep walkway of debris.
- Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
- Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.
- Install lawn furniture.
- Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
- Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and furniture.
- Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.
- Other duties as assigned
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices.
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Minimum one-year experience in the landscape industry but not required
- Valid Driver's license and safe driving record.
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Requires good manual dexterity.
- Excellent stamina is required.
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
- Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.
- Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work.
