Rate: Hourly $36.06 to Salary $85,000 DOE
Position Overview:
The eCommerce Inventory Analyst is responsible for overseeing the entire inventory lifecycle, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demand without overstocking while optimizing margin. Responsibilities include monitoring and forecasting inventory requirements, managing bulks, and monitoring delivery of goods. This role also analyzes sales trends and adjust inventory strategies accordingly to minimize costs and maximize profitability. Effective communication with other departments, such as operations, sales, marketing, and customer service, is crucial to align inventory levels with promotional activities and seasonal variations, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver seasonal. eCommerce Product Forecast to Operations based on sales forecasts, market trends, marketing initiatives, and consumer demand. Update Forecast based on business trends and requirements.
- Monitor eCommerce Inventory Contracts/Bulks to ensure release on an optimal timing basis based on sell-through and business needs.
- Manage eCommerce products through their entire lifecycle from Forecast to sell-through.
- Maximize margin through strategic markdowns and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the eCommerce, marketing and merchandising teams to develop product assortments and strategies that align with seasonal product focus and key stories.
- Track inventory position on products featured in seasonal catalogs and communicate styles to Operations and Wholesale Team to protect featured inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and product performance to identify optimization opportunities, making data-driven decisions to maximize sales and minimize excess inventory based on MAP guidelines.
- Create and communicate seasonal markdown cadence to drive self-through.
- Monitor and report new season shipping status/delays/shortages.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and make recommendations for assortment adjustments and pricing strategies.
- Prepare and present regular reports on key performance metrics, including sales performance, inventory turnover, tracking, and product availability.
- Stay updated on industry developments, emerging trends, and best practices in eCommerce and inventory management to continuously improve processes and drive efficiency.
What Should You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in eCommerce buying, planning, or related roles, preferably in a retail or eCommerce environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to drive decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in managing inventory and purchase orders.
- Expertise of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other relevant software for data analysis and inventory management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and adaptable approach to work.
- Knowledge of Shopify Plus, digital marketing, and retail trends is a plus
