Job Details
The Industrial Designer designs and develops industrial product concepts and specifications that reflect aesthetic, functional and manufacturing requirements. Researches and analyzes the intended use of products and user preferences. Translates user insights and market requirements into CAD models and prototypes to visually communicate the design concepts to both customers and manufacturers. Collaborates with stakeholders like customers, engineering, manufacturing, sales and suppliers to produce final designs that meet established metrics and criteria.
This position requires work on a wide range of items as an individual contributor in both leading and supporting roles.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop aesthetically pleasing product that meets customer requirements and business objectives.
- Take part in daily team meetings within the Engineering department or on project teams.
- Work with teammates, customers and suppliers (internal and external) to achieve project goals.
- Maintain personal and shared workspaces to company standards.
- Working overtime or longer hours maybe required to meet deadlines.
Job Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent experience
- Related on-job experience ~ 5 years.
- Ability to use CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Competence with Adobe Creative Suite
