As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Operator and be part of our Hot Annealing and Pickling Line team in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama.
In this role, you will be committed to safety, quality & productivity to help Outokumpu achieve the accuracy and quality standards needed on the Hot Annealing and Pickling Line.

Job qualifications and experience requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
- Have a basic knowledge of computers.
- Have experience operating overhead cranes (preferably).
- Have experience operating a forklift (preferably).
- Attention to details. Understanding of production procedures.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations
- Capable of effective communication, include speaking, writing, active listening and taking instruction.
- Ability to work independently or cross-functional teams
Some responsibilities are:
- Follow all safety rules and regulations strictly and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Safely use and operate various tools including power tools, hoists, and production equipment.
- Maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift with a focus on quality (i.e., within applicable quality standards).
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
- Accurately complete paperwork required for production records.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow established processes and instructions.
- Perform duties assigned by Shift Coordinator.
- Perform housekeeping activities daily.
- Work overtime as required and mandated by production schedules.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
- Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
- Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in extreme heat
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
- Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
- Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
- Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
- Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
- Ability to safely use power and hand tools
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.
Salary: 23.33 hour
