Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding, as well as experience in medical billing processes. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate billing and collections, maintaining patient records, and facilitating communication between healthcare providers and insurance companies.
Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients, including posting and reconciling payments.
- Review patient records to ensure accurate coding using ICD- 10and DRG guidelines.
- Follow up on outstanding claims, ensuring timely collections of payments.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives to resolve billing inquiries.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
- Assist with Front office scheduling and communicating with patients (potentially as backup)
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and billing processes.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding standards, Hospital Outpatient, Physician Office, ASC, and DRG classifications.
- Experience in medical collections and handling patient accounts.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using medical office systems and software for billing purposes.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.
