What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Sterile Reprocessing Technician - PRN position position at Outpatient Services East?
Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs decontamination of instruments using Enzymatic Cleaner and Ultrasonic Washer. Performs and documents biological testing on all sterilization equipment. Packaging and labeling supplies for sterilization. Loading and operating Steam Autoclaves and Sterrad NX units. Documentation of all loads in sterilizing units. Operating the washer/disinfector – loading and unloading instruments, refilling detergents, lubricants, troubleshooting with Materials Management regarding mechanical issues and completing log book documentation if it is necessary. Ordering and restocking of supplies in Reprocessing area. Segregation of instruments that need repair. Assembles trays for sterilization. Maintains a clean environment by daily cleaning of all work surfaces and equipment. Training of staff in Reprocessing area. Communication with OR Charge Nurse and DON for ordering instruments needed. Must maintain correct count sheets for Instrument Trays. Maintaining the IFU (Instructions for Use) book.
Requirements:
PRN Availability for Monday-Friday
No Call / No Weekends!!!
Previous Surgical instrument experience is preferred
