Outreach is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of FT Primary Counselor to work in our Adolescent Residential Program located in Ridgewood, NY. The
Primary Counselor is responsible for the delivery of direct clinical services in a substance abuse treatment setting.

Primary Counselor is responsible for the delivery of direct clinical services in a substance abuse treatment setting.
What You Will Do
- Facilitate various formats (e.g. individuals, groups, specialty groups) on time and in a professional, ethical and caring manner. Manage all aspects of a caseload from date of entry to date of discharge with special attention to appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions
- Provide backup coverage in the event of other clinical staff absences
- Demonstrate initiative in task identification and completion; use time efficiently in working with the Program Director and Program Coordinator to effectively handle volume of work
- Address program issues with the Program Director, which pertain to strategic objectives, annual plan and overall delivery of services
- Participate in and support agency quality improvement programs; support actions to improve care and services based on outcome data
- Advanced degree required; LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or higher preferred
- Limited permit or clinical master’s level candidate with relevant experience will be considered
- 2-3 years of experience with substance abuse disorders
- 1-2 years of experience working with clients with co-occurring and mental health problems
- 1-2 years of experience working in an OASAS funded facility a plus
- Commitment to providing quality services and outcome-driven performance measures
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Experience with AVATAR electronic health records a plus
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
- Available to work the following Schedule: Sunday 7a-3p, Monday 9a-5p, Tues-Thursday2p-10p. Friday/Saturday OFF
