Outreach is hiring a Part-time Crisis Intervention Team Member at Outreach Wheaton to serve on the Crisis Intervention Team.
The schedule for this job is rotational, and coverage hours are Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 24 hours on Saturday, Sunday, and Agency Holidays.

Benefits & Compensation:
- During training: $100 per week to carry the pager and $50 per hour for each of the first four hours of crisis intervention, then $25 for each additional hour.
- Once training is complete: $200 per week to carry the pager ($250 for weeks with an agency-recognized holiday) and $100 for every hour of response up to 4 hours per hour of crisis intervention, then $50 per hour for each additional hour.
- Additional reimbursement is available for travel-related expenses when responding to crisis calls.

Responsibilities:
- The Crisis Intervention Team Member serves on Outreach Wheaton’s Specialized Youth Services Team, supporting youth in crisis to keep them safe and connected to their parents and prevent or minimize involvement with child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
- Responsibilities include providing crisis intervention services to local police departments regarding runaway or locked-out youth and competing case and grant-related documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Previous experience with youth.
- Ability to navigate the legal and mental health delivery systems.
- Sensitivity to the needs of low-income and culturally diverse populations.
- Must be able to respond to crisis calls within 15 minutes and be present at the crisis location within 45 minutes from the call.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with a team.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and safe driving record.
- A commitment to Outreach's Statement of Mission & Faith.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
