Daily role includes but is not limited to:
The manager works 30-40 hours per week, including at least one weekend day a week, evenings, special events and some holidays. Assistant Managers may be required to cover hours for sick or vacationing staff and act as the manager. The Assistant Manager may need to work overtime or extended hours when necessary.

- Show a strong work ethic and ability to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Be strong in shoe and apparel fitting. Maintain a high level of current product and brand knowledge. Work fitting rooms and engage in driving sales.
- Feel comfortable using a computer and have familiarity with the Windows system.
- Support Outside In’s community outreach efforts by being versed on the event calendar, details of events and encourage customers to join.
- Maintain an organized backroom.
- Take ownership of look and feel of the shop. Merchandise the organize the store regularly.
- Strategize to increase sales and foot traffic.
- Ensure all customers are greeted in a timely manner, treated warmly and with respect, receive staff attention and care through their entire shopping experience, and have questions answered or problems solved to the best of store ability.
- Set sales goals and projections as well as team tasks for the day such as: trips to the bank, restocking, cleaning, organizing, taking out trash/cardboard. Pitch in or delegate tasks as appropriate to ensure completion.
- Provide exceptional leadership on the sales floor: observe the rest of the floor continuously while helping customers, assure each customer has been greeted and communicated with, monitor flow and energy to maintain positive levels. Assure the staff adheres to Outside In policies, practices and standards at all times. Direct staff in the moment and as needed.
- Help multiple customers simultaneously while continuing to direct staff.
- Reach and exceed sales goals through tactful, respectful and honest sales practices.
- Foster open lines of communication with and among staff and owner using email, staff meetings, and regular one-on-one check-ins. Conduct performance reviews with staff.
- Process incoming shipments as needed: check packing slip against PO, receive into inventory, label and put away boxes.
- Counting cash and closing out previous day’s sales in point of sale system.
- Work closely with store owner on all matters pertaining to store management.
- Work closely with the buyer and help monitor inventory flow.
- Merchandise regularly, put new items out and rearrange current inventory to maintain an attractive and inviting retail space.
- Assure store is clean: dusted, mopped, clean windows and mirrors, vacuum, clean bathrooms and anything else to keep the store clean and tidy.
- Order supplies when needed or bring to attention the need for more supplies to the owner. The manager is responsible for ensuring the store is fully stocked on supplies.
- Work with owner to coordinate staff meetings and staff clinics.
- Field questions from customers and make decisions when Sales Associates need assistance with customers, returns, complaints, emergencies or any issue that may arise. Be able to knowledgeably answer questions and solve problems.
- Create staff schedules and field time off requests.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
