What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intensive In-Home Counselor position at Outsiders Youth Association?
Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate clinicians to join our IIC (Intentsive In-Community) program. The IIC provides time-limited, solution-focused, and evidenced-based Cognitive Behavioral interventions for youths and families. IIC will meet with youth and family in their home and work to improve or stabilize youth’s level of functioning within the home and community to decrease or eliminate behaviors or conditions that may impact on healthy functioning in the home, school, or community.
The IIC's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide in-home counseling to youth and their families in their home, youth ranging from 3-21 years of age who have emotional and/or behavioral needs.
- Competency in the knowledge and skills necessary to meet clients’ psychological and social needs.
- Provide services based on an individualized treatment plan to stabilize to prevent higher level of care.
- Provide behavioral interventions and behavioral management.
- Assess and provide diagnosis according to DSM-5 guidelines.
- Provide evidence-based, time-limited practice/interventions.
- Demonstrate competency in the knowledge and skills that are necessary to meet clients’ psychological and social needs and deliver services in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Create and maintain monthly treatment plans.
- Maintain communication with care managers regarding client progress.
- Attend meetings for treatment planning and position responsibilities, as well as supervision, if applicable.
- Interact professionally and respectfully with clients, families, staff members, and care managers.
- Document each counseling session in a timely manner.
- Plan for termination and communicate plans to clients, families, staff, and care managers.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related field.
- Must have one of the following licenses in NJ: LCSW, LSW, LPC, LAC, or LMFT.
- Strong skills in case management and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Commitment to providing high-quality care while adhering to ethical standards.
- Willing to serve children, adolescents, and families in home, the community, and/or schools.
- Bilingual is a plus

Pay: $65.00 - $85.00 per hour
