Seeking a Senior Design Specialist (Electrical Designer) to support our federal government client in Aiken, SC .

Work Hours : A 40 hour work week is scheduled. The client utilizes various work schedules including 5 / 8s (8 hour / day; five days per week), 4 / 10’s (10 hours / day; four days per week), and 9 / 80’s (9 hours / day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes the client holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager. This position is intended to work 4 10-hours shifts Monday - Thursday. Shift can change with managerial approval.
Area Security Access : Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
Qualifications : Required
- Must have at least 8 years of experience as an Electrical Designer
- Must demonstrate working knowledge of National Census Codes and Standards for electrical design such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA
- Significant recent, with-in the last 5 years, experience with 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design
- Must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of engineering systems, applications, calculations, materials, construction methods, and relevant computer applications
- Applies advanced principles and practices in engineering to resolve problems identified by construction organizations in a timely manner
- Continued updating on new technologies and hardware in the industry is necessary
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance
