Outten & Golden LLP is seeking a Data Analyst to support the firm’s employment litigation practice by producing value out of data. The individual will assist attorneys in identifying evidence, analyzing data received in litigation, and working with expert witnesses to present that evidence. The Data Analyst will apply data mining techniques and perform statistical analysis. The person in this role will be expected to be physically present in the Firm’s New York, San Francisco, or Washington, DC office at least two days per week.

Responsibilities:

Transform raw data for analysis.
- Build tools to automate data collection.
- Advise attorneys on data reporting and collection methods to support discovery in civil litigation.
- Use state-of-the-art data mining methods to search through large data sets for usable information.
- Create reports and presentations for use in multiple departments.
- Work with expert witnesses to analyze and report on data produced in litigation.
- Correlate similar data to find actionable results.
- Create damages calculations to support settlement negotiations.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to data science solution identification; identify unmet business requirements and communicate opportunities and suggested solutions.
- Implement identified data analytics solutions.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a combination of employment, educational, and life experience that demonstrates the qualities and skills below:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, statistics, operations research, or quantitative social science), required. You have at least 3 years’ experience working in a data analyst position, preferably in a professional services organization. The successful candidate possesses good analytical and problem-solving abilities, advanced knowledge of software design and architecture, an understanding of established data reporting and analytics tools and how best to use them to extract data from enterprise-level data systems and an ability to breakdown complex business problems, define a solution, and implement using advanced quantitative methods. Familiarity with some of the following is a plus: Oracle, SQL, PowerShell, HTML, CSS, SharePoint.

Compensation: An attractive compensation packaged (tailored to experience), with a target base compensation of $45.00 - $55.00 per hour (nonexempt, 40 hours per week: annualizes to approximately $93,600 – $114,400).
