Staff RN Emergency Department

JOB TITLE: Staff RN, Emergency Department

32 hrs weekly, 12 hr shifts 19:00-07:30am (Possible OT depending on need, not mandatory)

REPORTS TO: Director of Emergency Department

Rate: 65-75/hr. on W2 with benefits (bill rate range of $90 - $105)

POSITION SUMMARY: This job may require the employee to be responsible for the assessment, treatment, or care of patients of all ages, including neonate,

child, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior and this information

must be intelpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be

individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONEXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred, BSN preferred and at least one year of nursing experience in an emergency

setting is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTTRATIONS: Must possess a current California RN license and BLS certification. ACLS certification required within 90

days of hie or status change, PALS certification required within 90 days of hire or status change, and MAB certification required within 90 days of hire or status

change. CEN preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In accordance with ADA: prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking/sitting; lifts, positions pushes (up to 50 pounds);

repetitive motion: keyboard activity; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching; manual dexterity and mobility; touch, auditory and visual

perception and acuity; adequate vocal pitch and volume; ability to move quickly; Vision Requirements: sufficient perceptive acuity (vision and hearing) to perform

all the related duties of the positions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness): emergency and crisis

situations, subject to irregular hours.

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
