We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our thriving Accounting team in our Property Management division.
Basic Function:
The Property Management Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and reporting for a portfolio of properties managed by the company. This role involves preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and assisting in budgeting and financial planning processes. The Staff Accountant ensures compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall financial health and performance of the properties under management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements, variance analyses, and reports to provide timely insights and support decision-making.
- Reconcile accounts, maintain the general ledger, and complete month-end and year-end closings to ensure accurate financial records.

Ensure adherence to internal controls, GAAP, and regulatory requirements, and support audits with required documentation.

Work with stakeholders to gather financial data, communicate results, and address financial queries.

Manage and record financial transactions using accounting software, ensure data accuracy, and troubleshoot system issues.
Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- 1-4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the property management or real estate industry.
Esential Knowledge and Skills:

Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., RealPage, Yardi, Sage Fixed Assets, AppFolio) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

High level of integrity and ethical standards in handling confidential information.

Knowledge of property management operations, lease administration, and real estate financial metrics is preferred.

Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance related to property management is a plus.

Reconciliation of mortgage and escrow statement to general ledger.

Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts.

Reconciliation of bank accounts

Balance Sheet, Income Statements, Cash Flow, Equity Statement, General Ledger, Trial Balance, etc.

Prepare journal entries, prepare check requests, Account analysis, subsidiary journals, maintain files, and other tasks which may be necessary in order to maintain the effectiveness and stability of the department, specifically the company in general.

$70K/year
