Job Description:
We currently have openings for the right person to become a part of our elite nursing team. Our caring staff enjoy working for a five-star long term care facility where the mission is to provide quality services for the seniors in our community. If you are a hard-working, energetic, dependable, and caring Certified Nursing Assistant with nursing home experience, and want to become part of our team, we have select openings for you to consider that are available on all shifts. Our staffing ratios are among the BEST you will find in the area as we believe strongly that the needs of the resident come first. We are located on the east side of Milwaukee overlooking Lake Michigan. Free underground parking is included as part of your employment, and we are located directly on the bus line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Works alone giving total care or assists residents with
- Bed bath, tub bath or shower, perineal care
- Dental, hair, nail, shaving, dressing and undressing, applications of make-up, hearing aids and eyeglasses
- Elimination needs providing for and changing protective padding, toileting by offering bedpan, urinal or taking to bathroom, Foley catheter cares.
- Ambulating, transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as walker, wheelchair, Hoyer lie, gait belt or lift sheets
- Answers all call lights promptly
- Active participation of resident in meeting their needs by promoting individualized, restorative care, attending activities, council meetings, and family involvement
- Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and weights
- Prepares, feeds and/or assists residents with meals, serves and removes trays, encourages the use of adaptive devices
- Measures and records intake/output as required
- Passes nourishments, encourages hydration and food intake that is nutritionally balanced
- Observes and reports pertinent information concerning changes in behavior or physical state of a resident to the charge nurse
- Explains all procedures to residents before carrying them out
- Gives back rubs and applies lotion as needed
- Receives assignments and instructions from the charge nurse and refers to resident care sheet for specific care needs
- Performs simple range of motion exercises
- Is aware of and demonstrates proper hand washing, isolation techniques, universal precautions, food handling, linen handling and cleanliness of resident areas
- Applies soft restraints and other positioning devices per policy and procedure
- Demonstrates prevention and intervention used in caring for the confused, wandering or combative resident
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor(s), DON or Administrator
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Current Wisconsin C.N.A. certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment
This position requires C.N.A.'s to perform at a level which will enhance the long-standing organizational values,
mission and philosophy. Individual must be patient, respectful, courteous, tactful and exhibit a warm and cheerful manner
when dealing with residents, families and visitors.
