Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead client assessments or technical discovery as a way to understand a clients Network and Wireless Network environments, gaps, and then design solutions using IT templates.
- Leads the planning, implementation and maintenance of Network and Wireless Network solutions and platforms that perform to defined functional and operational expectations
- Delivers high-quality IT architectural Network and Wireless Network designs with an eye for building the designed systems accounting for existing technical debt, any development bottlenecks and Network architecture initiatives to drive service delivery, optimize cost and support established business goals
- Design and develop comprehensive network and wireless network architecture strategies that align with business objectives and future growth.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance network and wireless network capabilities.
- Develop and implement network and wireless network roadmaps, ensuring scalability, high availability / reliability, security and cost optimization of network infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise network and wireless network infrastructure, including LAN / WAN, cloud networks, telecommunications and security architectures.
- Lead other network and wireless network roadmap initiatives, including software-defined networking (SDN) network function virtualization (NFV), data center consolidations, and telecommunication upgrades / right-sizing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network and wireless network solutions with existing systems and processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and wireless network issues, providing expertise during critical incidents.
- Identify risks with current network and wireless network infrastructure and recommend and implement mitigation techniques.
- Create and maintain detailed network and wireless network architecture documentation, including diagrams, design specifications, and operational procedures.
- Establish metrics for measuring success, communicating expectations and monitoring progress to meet service levels and KPIs
- Ensure network and wireless network solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Cultivate relationships with network and wireless network vendors, assist in contract negotiations, and oversee delivery of their services.
- Occasional travel may be required
- Incident response to incidents on a 24x7 on call rotational basis is required.
